Our distinguished guest, Master of Public Health and PhD candidate at Sapienza University of Rome, Erlini Kokalla, visited ICEPS as a guest lecturer from Albania through the Erasmus+ mobility programme. She comes from our partner institution, the University “Ismail Qemali” of Vlora, Albania.

During her stay, she participated in teaching the Public Health course for the first generation of international undergraduate Nursing students at ICEPS. In addition, she delivered a lecture at the ICEPS International Symposium titled “Healthcare for the Future – Education, Competencies, and the New Role of Nurses and Healthcare Technicians.” Her presentation, “Educating Nurses for Elderly Care in the Future: Preparing Systems and Professional Competencies – The Albanian Experience,” attracted significant attention from symposium participants.

Our guest lecturer’s experienceonce again confirmed the importance of academic staff mobility in fostering professional development, intercultural understanding, and meaningful international connections.

During her time at ICEPS, she conducted lectures, practical sessions, and interactive workshops in which students addressed challenges in management and public health through role-play activities. She particularly emphasized the students’ motivation, high level of knowledge, openness to collaboration, and well-developed critical thinking skills.

“The students were highly motivated and eager to learn, and working with such a group is always inspiring. I was truly impressed by their level of knowledge,” said our guest lecturer.

For our guest Erlini Kokalla, this was her first international teaching mobility within the Erasmus+ programme, and she highlighted that the experience significantly increased her confidence in teaching in English and working with international students.

She was especially impressed by the ICEPS International Symposium, which she described as an exceptionally well-organized event with a warm and encouraging atmosphere. Her presentation received very positive feedback from participants, while numerous discussions and professional contacts established after the session contributed to new collaborations and the exchange of experiences.

In addition to the academic programme, guest lecturer Erlini Kokalla particularly emphasized the value of the intercultural experience and the hospitality she experienced during her stay in Serbia.

“From the very first moment — from my arrival at the airport to everyday encounters in the city — everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I truly felt at home,” our guest lecturer shared .

She was especially impressed by the atmosphere of the city, its many green spaces, and the openness of the local community. She plans to share her experience with students and colleagues in Albania in order to encourage them to participate in Erasmus+ programmes at ICEPS.

Our guest Erlini Kokalla also emphasized that she would gladly participate in a similar programme again and would highly recommend it to both colleagues and students.

Experiences such as this once again highlight the importance of international cooperation through Erasmus+ programmes in strengthening professional competencies, building mutual trust, and connecting young professionals across the region.
